A. Attendance

At the invitation of the Canadian Organising Committee, the 23rd Congress of the World Association for Buiatrics was held in Quebec City, Canada, from July 11 to 16, 2004.
More than 1830 delegates from 57 countries participated in the scientific and social programmes.

B. Scientific programme

Fifty-six keynote lectures, 209 oral and 398 posters communications were presented on most topics related to buiatrics sciences. Four workshops, four industry symposiums, several visits were also organised.

C.4. Venue of the 25th Congress of the World Association for Buiatrics in 2008

Budapest (Hungary) was accepted by the Committee as an organising candidate for the 25th Congress of the World Association for Buiatrics in 2008. Final decision will be made after April 1, 2005.

C.5. Venue of the 27th Congress of the World Association for Buiatrics in 2012

The candidatures and candidacy files must be sent in 15 samples to the WAB Secretariat before April 1, 2006. The candidacy files must contain detailed information on: Applications to host the 2010 World Buiatrics Congress should be sent in 15 copies to the WAB Secretariat before April 1, 2006.
The candidacy files must contain detailed information on:

  • organising committee, scientific committee, potential major sponsors
  • geographical location
  • local infrastructure for conferences, accommodation and social activities
  • scientific programme (invited and free presentations, satellite symposia, joint meetings, professional visits and other potential proposals)
  • social programme
  • marketing for the promotion of the congress
  • proceedings, CD-rom and simultaneous translation
  • balance of the finances including the fees to the WAB (please contact the WAB secretariat for more details)
  • any other topic of potential interest for the selection of this venue.

The final decision will be taken by the WAB committee in October 2006 in Nice (France).
